From 2001 to 2005 I did a series of mostly acrylic or gouache paintings that fell into the category of either self-portrait or images from dreams that were significant in my spiritual and emotional life. It was a time of intense pain but also healing, a dark night of sorts. I was sustained by the art, good spiritual direction, therapy and stalwart friendships.
